Philadelphia Groups

One of the most important benefits of the Society of Plastics Engineers is networking. The main point of the monthly meeting is networking where colleagues get together on a regular basis. It is the regular contact that develops the networks. Unfortunately then monthly meeting as well as other activities do not lend themselves to effective networking. They are not often enough. Because of the size of a section, it is too difficult for people to get together on a frequent basis.
The idea of the Group is for professionals in a particular area, get together regularly for conversation. It could be a breakfast, lunch or cocktails. It could even vary. The point is to get together often enough to get to know each other and truly become friends. That is real networking.
Therefore, the Philadelphia is starting the Philadelphia Group. This is a small group in a particular area that meets regularly for conversation. Once identified, the Groups will be listed here. All SPE members are invited. Members are encouraged to start their own group. Once started, the group if they wish can be listed on this website and may even send in minutes if they wish. The important thing is to get together and let nature take its course. (11/10/2008)
To start a group:
1. Find a suitable meeting place and set date.
2. Notify R. Corneliussen (RDC) to list the group and publicize the neeting.
3. Attend and see who shows up. If one or more attends, decide if you want
have a group. If so, set up a schedule and send information to RDCto be
listed on the website and have notices sent.
4. If meetings occur, send a very short summary for the website to RDC
